Cheshire Weddings – Abi +Stephen

Cheshire Weddings – Abi +Stephen

With grey clouds grumbling all week leading up to this gorgeous wedding I was a little nervous about the weather. It’s a hot topic at the moment amongst wedding photographers! Gladly Abi and Stephen were blessed with an almost rain free day apart from the speeches which didn’t matter as everybody was celebrating in the beautifully decorated marquee.

Stephen’s parents hosted the country reception with the most impressive house and gardens. I almost offered my National Trust pass when I arrived! Manicured lawns and happy, bouncing heads of tulips made for a beautiful setting admired buy all the guests.

I would like to mention and say thanks to Rev. David Walton of St Michael’s Church in Baddiley, Wrenbury who patiently helped me find a good position to photograph the service so I could capture the special moments between Abi and Steve whilst being very respectful of the service. Sometimes it can be very disappointing when I’m not allowed to work from the front of the church so I was very pleased that David and his team of church wardens were most considerate in accommodating my requests. Thank you.

It was also so lovely to see Caroline and Rick – one of my lovely wedding couples who are now awaiting the arrival of their baby!

Abi looked simply beautiful in her lace dress – elegant, demure and timeless. Although both a little nervous the smiles soon shone through and there was lots of laughter during the speeches. Everybody looked as if they were having a great time!

Wedding Photographer at Arley Hall – Amanda + Steve

Wedding Photographer at Arley Hall.

Following on from last weeks preview image of Amanda and Steve’s wedding at Arley Hall here is a selection of images from their very fine day. Following a week of dismal weather I have to admit I was a little nervous that the umbrellas would be out in force but when Saturday arrived there was not a drop of rain!

There were some touching moments for me during this wedding. The arrival of the bride for one greeted by the sword party of RAF officers who Steve works with. Secondly as Steve waited for the arrival of his bride taking deep breaths to compose himself and then Amanda trying to hold back the tears as she walked down the aisle on the arm of her Mum to marry her love. I have to admit to wiping away a tear or two myself (but I didn’t miss a single shot I have to add!). A highlight was the hilarious best man’s speech and the images below really convey the uproar in the room.

Amanda had tastefully decorated the very beautiful Arley Hall and once again it looked stunning. The flowers were incredible  - hats off to the talented Laura Coleman for such prettiness. Of course I have to also mention the staff at Arley who are always so well organised. Simon, Tony and Michelle – thank you for making my job so much easier. It’s great to work with such a lovely team. Well done Arley Hall! I love being a wedding photographer and I’m lucky to work at venues such as Arley Hall who really take care of their couples and staff.

Weddings at Combermere Abbey – Kate + John

April showers did not spoil the happiness at this wedding last weekend! Kate and John travelled north from the capital where they both live and work as they had fallen in love with the beautiful walled gardens of Combermere Abbey. I have to say that the enchanting setting of this wedding venue makes it one of my favourite places to work at too. Conveniently placed on the Cheshire/Shropshire border it is a magical place for weddings and wedding photography. Another huge plus is the brilliant staff at Combermere Abbey who are incredibly helpful and great fun – perfect! The glasshouse and pavillion are ideally suited for weddings at Combermere Abbey accommodating wedding parties of all sizes.

Kate started her wedding celebrations the night before with some champagne I believe! The bridal party stayed at Crossley Cottage at Combermere Abbey which was flooded with natural light and furnishings to die for, something I always love for photographing the bridal preparations. I loved the colour scheme that Kate and John had chosen which was complimented greatly by the tasteful flowers by Lisa at Red Door Design. I’ve photographed a number of weddings where Lisa has provided the flowers and they are stunning every single time.

Although Kate is an actress I don’t think she could prepare for the emotions of her wedding day and had a few overwhelming moments which subsided with the help of her bridesmaids and Paul – a good friend. On the subject of Paul..you can spot him in the images below – just look out for the six pack!

Kate and John exchanged the wedding vows in St. Alkmund’s Church in Whitchurch and drove off in a vintage car to celebrate their marriage at Combermere Abbey. A few showers did not dampen the day one bit and everybody seemed to be having the best time joining in with the celebrations.

What a wonderful day. Many congratulations to you both!
